The Prediction: 12 Wins
Analyst Ralph Vacchiano is bullish on the Eagles, projecting 12 wins despite the daunting schedule.
"The Philadelphia Eagles are as loaded as ever, and if they can just get some consistency up front and a little better play out of their offense, they've got a chance to be a Super Bowl contender. They sure will have to run the gauntlet of contenders to get there, though. They will be tested constantly this season against some of the NFL's elite. If nothing else, it'll be very clear where they stand heading into the playoffs."
The Betting Line
Oddsmakers are slightly less optimistic. FanDuel Sportsbook sets Philadelphia's win total at 10.5 wins, with Super Bowl odds at +1800 and playoff odds at -152.
Aggressive Offseason Moves
The Eagles have been active, overhauling their receiver room while bolstering the pass rush:
- Receivers: Signed Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, traded for Dontayvion Wicks from Green Bay, and drafted USC's Makai Lemon in the first round. A.J. Brown remains trade bait.
- Backup QB: Acquired Andy Dalton from Carolina.
- Edge Rush: Traded a third-round pick to Minnesota for Jonathan Greenard, replacing Jaelan Phillips who left in free agency.
The Draft Verdict
Vacchiano ranked Philadelphia No. 4 overall in post-draft power rankings, declaring simply: "They are so back."
Draft analyst Rob Rang went further, awarding the Eagles an A-plus grade.
"Reinforcing a roster as talented as the Eagles' is difficult and [general manager Howie] Roseman does it creatively and effectively every year, lengthening the team's Super Bowl window."
