Jaguars Make History With Two Home Games in London in 2026
The Jacksonville Jaguars will play two home games in London in 2026 due to stadium renovations, marking a significant milestone as the first NFL team to do so, while contributing to the league's broader international expansion with a record nine games sch
The Jacksonville Jaguars will become the first NFL team to play two home games overseas, the league announced Tuesday. Both contests are scheduled for London in October 2026—one at Wembley Stadium, the other at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Washington Commanders will also host a game at Tottenham, the official home of the NFL in Britain. Specific dates and opponents will be announced later.
Why London?
The Jaguars are forced to relocate temporarily due to stadium renovations in Jacksonville. The work will slash the team's home capacity to just 42,507 this fall. In 2027, the Jaguars will be fully displaced, with most home games moving to Orlando. NFL rules allow teams to play up to three home games internationally that season.
A Pattern Emerging
This marks the third time in four years the Jaguars have played consecutive games in London, though this is the first time both will count as home games. In 2023, Jacksonville swept the Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills in London. Last year, the team split decisions against the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots, but lost to the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley.
"My immediate takeaway was London is undoubtedly our home away from home. We have a passionate and knowledgeable fan base in London, built over time and still growing, and we're making a positive impact with fans throughout the United Kingdom as well."
— Jaguars coach Liam Coen
The Jaguars' London Legacy
Jacksonville has dominated the international game circuit. Since 2013, the Jaguars have played an NFL-leading 14 games in London, posting a 7-7 record across 11 Wembley appearances and three at Tottenham. The team initially scheduled two London home games in 2020 but scrapped those plans due to the pandemic.
Washington brings minimal overseas experience—just two prior international contests, including a 27-27 tie with Cincinnati in 2016. The Commanders lost to Miami in overtime during the NFL's first Madrid game last year.
The Global NFL Expansion
The London matchups are part of an NFL-record nine international games in 2026 spanning four continents, seven countries, and eight stadiums. San Francisco and the Rams head to Australia. The 49ers visit as the away team but host a Mexico game. Detroit hosts in Germany. New Orleans hosts in France. Dallas hosts in Brazil. The remaining Spain game's home team has yet to be announced.
