Maxx Crosby Trade Could Happen This Week as Raiders Face Forced Hand
Las Vegas Raiders' star Maxx Crosby is at the center of trade rumors with multiple NFL teams interested, as the Raiders demand two first-round picks and a player for the edge rusher.
Maxx Crosby isn't a free agent, but the Las Vegas Raiders' star edge rusher could become the most significant player moved in the NFL this offseason.
Trade rumors have intensified since Crosby stormed out of the Raiders' facility after the team benched him for the final two games of the 2025 regular season. In February, FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that Crosby's time in Las Vegas was likely finished, fueling speculation about his next destination.
Deal Could Close This Week, Multiple Teams Circling
A trade involving Crosby could materialize as soon as this week, Sports Illustrated reported Monday. The Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Rams are all "keeping tabs" on the situation, according to the publication.
When trade talk first emerged, some speculated Crosby wouldn't move until the NFL Draft in April due to his recent knee surgery. But the Raiders aren't shopping him broadlyβa Crosby trade could instead trigger a cascade of other deals across the league.
The Cowboys expressed interest in Crosby ahead of the trade deadline in November, Glazer reported. Crosby has also previously stated he'd love to play for Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, according to The Athletic.
Raiders Demanding High Price: Two First-Rounders Plus a Player
Las Vegas is asking for two first-round picks and a player in any Crosby deal, Pro Football Talk reported. The ask mirrors what the Cowboys received for Micah Parsons in August: two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark from the Green Bay Packers.
Crosby is arguably as talented as Parsons, but his age and injury history complicate his value. Crosby will be 29 when the 2026 season starts, compared to Parsons at 26 when traded. Parsons also signed an extension with Green Bay, boosting his perceived value. While Crosby has four years remaining on his contract, he's recovering from meniscus surgery and has battled injuries in recent seasons.
Raiders GM Signals Openness to All Offers
Raiders general manager John Spytek attempted to project stability at the NFL Scouting Combine, calling Crosby "an elite player" and emphasizing the team needs "really good players" to build a contender.
But his follow-up remarks revealed the real situation. When asked if Crosby was untradeable, Spytek replied: "We're always listening."
FOX Sports NFL writer Henry McKenna interpreted those comments as a signal that Las Vegas has effectively accepted defeat.
"It's understandable that the Raiders don't want to trade Crosby. It's also starting to feel unrealistic. He doesn't want to be there, and when a player of Crosby's caliber makes a decision like that, it forces the team's hand. So at some point before the draft, there will likely be a blockbuster trade that sends Crosby to a new home."
